Homecoming night turned into a fight for survival for Macon County held off visiting White House Heritage for a 28-26 victory at Pat Parker Field.
The Tigers stopped a two-point conversion attempt with 19.8 seconds remaining to preserve the victory. The Patriots (0-4) had the ball for all but 30 seconds in the final quarter and scored 12 unanswered points to keep the game close.
Seth Carlisle rushed for 220 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries, including a 71-yard scoring run in the third quarter.

Noah Likens had a 4-yard touchdown run to open the scoring, while Carlisle hit Chris Oliver for a 43-yard touchdown on the first play in the first quarter.
Oliver finished with four receptions for 96 yards.
Ryan Carver finished with a team-high 11 tackles defensively, and Trent Boles had both Tiger sacks on the evening.
Macon County improved to 2-1 with the victory, and will open Region 3-4A play next week with a trip to Cumberland County.
