On Tuesday, April 11, Macon County hosted district opponent Livingston Academy. In the first game of the double header, Senior Logan Thompson threw a complete game gem and shutout the Wildcats. He took a perfect game into the fourth inning. Thompson went 7 innings only allowing three hits and one walk while striking out 5. Sophomore Hayden Blankenship led the Tigers in hitting going 2-2 in the first game. Senior Logan Thompson, Juniors Isaac Belton and Cameron Mercer, and Sophomore Isaac Meador all added one hit each. Belton and Thompson added a RBI each. The Tigers went on to win the game 3-0 over Livingston. Thompson improves to (4-1) on the season with a 0.64 ERA.
In game two, Macon County jumped on the board in the third inning and again in the fifth inning to go up 2-0 on Livingston. Livingston made a charge in the sixth scoring two to tie the game up. Then, Senior Kade Allen’s 7th inning two out double plated another run for the Tigers who went up 3-2. The Tigers had 8 hits in game two were led by Allen who had a single and a double. Hayden Blankenship, Connor Trent, Isaac Meador, Trent Cook, Logan Thompson, and Oakley Stinson all added a hit each. Allen and Stinson had one RBI each. Senior Trent Cook had a brilliant performance on the mound. Cook took a perfect game into the 5th inning. Cook struck out four batters and only allowed 2 runs on 5 hits. He picked up his 4th win this season. His record is now (4-0) with a 1.56 ERA.
