Girls Varsity Softball · Macon defeats York in the first round of the District 8AA tournament.


The Macon County Tigerettes hosted York Dragons in the first round of the District 8AA Tournament.

The Tigerettes got the first 3 batters from York out in the Top of the 1st, in Friday nights game.
Abby Shoulders led off for the Tigerettes, hitting a triple, before scoring off a ground ball by Morgan Carter. Allyson Shoulders then stepped to the plate and drilled one over center field fence, making the score 2-0. Rachel Ritchie followed with a double, then scored by stealing home.
Top of the 2nd, Pitcher Raini Gerometta strikes out 2, and throws out 1. Shutting York down from scoring. Bottom of the 2nd, the Tigerettes went on a hitting spree, putting the ball into play and scoring 4 runs. Crossing the plate in the 2nd, were Madilyn Goodall, Abby Shoulders, Morgan Carter, and Allyson Shoulders.
Top of the 3rd, York got things going with a single to Left Center, scoring 3. The Tigerettes, went scoreless in the 3rd.
Top of the 4th, the Tigerettes played great defense, allowing no runs by York. Bottom of 4th, The Tigerettes batted around, scoring 10 runs.
The Tigerettes with the win over York, 17-3.
The Macon County Tigerettes will travel to Watertown, Monday May 6th, to take on the Upperman Lady Bees in round 2 of the District 8AA Tournament.
