Girls Varsity Volleyball · Volleyball: The Tigerettes vs. The Yellow Jackets

The Macon County Volleyball Tigerettes hosted a home game last night, September 26th. They played the Springfield High School Yellow Jackets.

The Yellow Jackets came out strong in set one, but the Tigerettes fought hard to keep up throughout the match. Sophomore Myle Crowder made some notable saves and dives during that first set, but unfortunately the Yellow Jackets got the best of the Tigerettes with a set score of 20-25.

In the second set, the Tigerettes played harder despite the Yellow Jackets’ early lead. Macon County kept the game tied up for the majority of the set. Once again, however, the Yellow Jackets took the set with a score of 21-25.

Set three saw a few more incredible plays from the Tigerettes, but the Yellow Jackets scored early and increased their lead. When the scoreboard displayed 15-20, the Tigerettes stepped up their game with a remarkable 7-point comeback closing the gap of the final score. It wasn’t enough, though. The Yellow Jackets won set three with a final score of 22-25.

The Tigerettes have one more regular season game next Tuesday, October 1st. Come out and support the Tigerettes as they celebrate their Senior Night recognizing the team’s three seniors Mattie Butler, Mia Brawner, and Skylar Davis.
