The Macon County Tigers took on the Watertown Tigers on Tuesday, January 28th.
The MC Tigerettes also had a great start. The lead Watertown 21-5 after the first period. While Watertown made some gains through the second quarter, the MC Tigerettes maintained their lead, ending halftime 36-18. Both Tigerettes teams continue to play hard, but Watertown struggled to keep up. The third period ended with Macon in the lead 50-25. The fourth quarter saw a six-point jump for Watertown, but Macon sealed the deal, defeating Watertown 62-31.
The MC Tigers started off well. They were keeping up with Watertown. Junior Noah Hale made a last second lay up to get us up by one to end the 2nd quarter. The Macon Tigers went into the 3rd quarter with a half time score of 32-31, with Macon in the lead. We got the first possession of the second half. Macon County came up short in Watertown with a score of 70-59, but their effort and tenacity was fantastic.
Macon County will be hosting Cannon County Friday night at the Nera White Gymnasium. Come out at 6:00 for the opening tip-off.
